Party, Class Dictatorship, and the Extinction of Capitalist Categories

A Programmatically Constrained Hybrid Model of the Transition from Capitalism to Communism

Abstract. This paper revises an earlier stock-flow-consistent Goodwin research programme by replacing an eclectic political transition block with a programmatically constrained formal reconstruction of the Marx–Engels–Lenin–Italian Left conception of revolutionary transition. The model distinguishes five sequential regimes: capitalism, revolutionary crisis and dual power, dictatorship of the proletariat with a transitional economy, lower communism, and higher communism. Organic centralism is represented as a constitutive programmatic predicate rather than a continuously varying popularity score. The material capacity of the Communist Party, proletarian mass organs, and mobilization remain distinct and enter the seizure condition conjunctively, preventing spontaneous institutions or mass action from substituting for the party. The bourgeois state and proletarian semi-state are separate variables: the former is destroyed by a hybrid reset, while the latter is constituted and later withers only as class differentiation, counterrevolution, commodity relations, monetary mediation, bourgeois right, fixed division of labour, and international capitalist encirclement disappear. Legal socialization is separated from the abolition of wage labour, money, commodity production, autonomous enterprise accounting, value regulation, and transferable property claims. International extension is a hard condition for passage beyond the transitional economy. A physical-service planning subsystem is formulated as a metric gradient flow and possesses a Lyapunov descent identity for fixed needs and technology. The paper proves forward invariance, sequentiality, party non-substitutability, the insufficiency of nationalization, positive capitalist-category floors under persistent international isolation, conditional class extinction, and conditional state withering. Three numerical scenarios illustrate the difference between mass rupture without a programmatically admissible party, a nationally isolated proletarian dictatorship, and an international transition through the lower and higher phases. The results are internally verified by independent tests, time-step refinement, randomized planning simulations, and the previously verified stock-flow-consistent capitalist core. They are formal implications of disclosed premises, not empirical forecasts of revolution.

1 The problem addressed by the revision

The earlier edition of this research programme established several results that remain useful: a bounded Goodwin-type capitalist core; exact stock-flow accounting closure; a corrected employment identity; a reproducible subcritical Hopf bifurcation; a finite-amplitude political transition threshold; and a planning-loss descent theorem. The re-audit that produced the present edition, however, exposed a political and categorical inconsistency. The post-capitalist branch still treated wage share, profit, interest, rent, debt, and monetary policy as permanent coordinates that could be pushed toward more desirable values. That construction could describe a regulated transitional capitalism or a state-directed accumulation regime. It could not describe the supersession of capitalist social relations.

The revision therefore asks a more demanding question:

What changes are required if the political and transitional architecture is constrained by the programmatic positions of Marx, Engels, Lenin, the Communist International, the Italian Communist Left, and the International Communist Party rather than by a generic theory of protest, legitimacy, and institutional replacement?

The answer is not to add one more political state. It is to alter the logical type of the model. The transition can no longer be a weighted score that allows strong mobilization or local alternative institutions to compensate for the absence of a class party. The bourgeois state cannot be the same state variable that later “withers.” Nationalization cannot stand in for the abolition of wage labour and commodity production. A national post-capitalist government cannot be declared lower communism while world capitalism remains structurally dominant. Lower and higher communism cannot be collapsed into one socialization index. Organic centralism cannot be represented as a poll of members or a degree of managerial centralization.

The resulting model is a programmatically constrained hybrid automaton. The constraints are not empirical estimates. They are an explicit reconstruction of a political programme. Mathematics is used to determine whether the reconstructed premises are mutually coherent, what consequences they entail, and which proposed trajectories are ruled out. This is different from claiming that mathematics proves the truth of the programme.

The paper makes four classes of claims:

  1. Textual reconstruction claims: selected programmatic texts support the stated formal axioms. These remain open to textual and historical criticism.

  2. Exact formal claims: propositions follow from definitions and equations, such as party non-substitutability, no phase skipping, and the impossibility of lower communism below the international gate.

  3. Numerical claims: disclosed parameterizations produce stated trajectories and transition times; these are tested under time-step refinement.

  4. Retained verification claims: the prior Goodwin–SFC core continues to satisfy its exact accounting and local bifurcation checks.

Keeping these evidentiary levels separate is indispensable. A doctrinal premise is not an econometric finding. A successful simulation is not historical necessity. A mathematical implication can be exact without the premise from which it follows being empirically established.

2 Source corpus and reconstruction method

2.1 The classical sequence

The reconstruction begins from Marx’s distinction between capitalist society, the revolutionary political transition, and the phases of communist society. In the Critique of the Gotha Programme, the transition state is identified with the revolutionary dictatorship of the proletariat, while the lower phase still bears the marks of the society from which it emerges and the higher phase is associated with distribution according to need (Marx 1875). Lenin systematizes the distinction between destruction of the bourgeois state, the proletarian state of the transition, the first phase of communist society, the higher phase, and the withering of the state (Lenin 1917). Engels distinguishes state ownership under capitalism from social appropriation and ties state disappearance to the disappearance of classes and the replacement of rule over persons by the administration of things (Engels 1878).

The party is not introduced as an optional accelerator. Lenin’s polemic against economism distinguishes spontaneous economic struggle from a centralized revolutionary political organization (Lenin 1902). The Communist International’s theses describe the party as the advanced, organized part of the class and as the political lever of proletarian rule (Communist International 1920). Bordiga’s Party and Class makes the stronger claim that a class becomes a historical force through the existence of its party, which need not contain the numerical majority of the class (Bordiga 1921).

2.2 The Italian Left and the ICP corpus

The 1921 and 1948 programmes require violent overthrow of bourgeois power, destruction of the old state apparatus, a proletarian dictatorship directed by the Communist Party, systematic intervention in production and distribution, and eventual disappearance of the political state (Communist Party of Italy 1921; International Communist Party 1948). Proletarian Dictatorship and Class Party rejects three alternatives simultaneously: adaptation of the bourgeois state, anarchist compression of the economic transformation into one insurrectionary act, and spontaneous construction of the new economy by isolated producers or trades (International Communist Party 1951b).

The organizational doctrine of organic centralism is treated in the Left’s texts not as a voting rule or a contingent arrangement, but as continuity and unity of doctrine, programme, organization, and action in space and time (Bordiga 1922, 1924; International Communist Party 1965, 1983, 2020). The present model therefore does not assign organic centralism a decimal value. It uses a binary admissibility predicate, while separately representing the material capacity and reach of the formal party.

The economic phases follow the ICP’s explicit distinction between a transitional economy, lower communism, and higher communism, as well as its characteristic theses on the continuity of programme and dictatorship (International Communist Party 1951a). The transition may retain mercantile forms and small production. Lower communism abolishes generalized monetary distribution and private enterprise control but retains bourgeois right and inherited divisions. Higher communism removes those survivals together with classes and the state (Bordiga 1952; International Communist Party 1957, 1969). Nationalization is not sufficient: state-owned enterprises remain capitalist when wage labour, monetary accounts, enterprise autonomy, commodity exchange, and profitability remain operative (Bordiga 1952; Engels 1878).

Internationalism is imposed as a structural condition rather than a rhetorical statement. The world-party conception is treated as an organizational and strategic premise rather than a federation of national parties (International Communist Party 1978). The 1948 programme says that full socialism is inconceivable within one country and that proletarian states must remain subordinated to the international class struggle and the World Communist Party (International Communist Party 1948). The model therefore allows a national dictatorship and transitional economy to exist under encirclement but blocks passage into lower communism until international extension crosses a disclosed threshold.

2.3 What textual adherence can and cannot mean

No finite equation set can be “all of Marx, Engels, and Lenin.” Their work contains historical analyses, polemics, tactical judgments, philosophical arguments, economic categories, and unfinished questions that cannot be compressed into a state vector. Nor can code determine whether a living organization truly possesses the invariant programme. The predicate used below records that the modeler has declared a formal party programmatically admissible according to the source concordance. It is not an algorithm for judging real parties.

Accordingly, adherence in this paper means:

  1. each constitutive formal axiom is linked to one or more source texts;

  2. no modeled transition contradicts those axioms by construction;

  3. derived outcomes are clearly separated from programmatic assumptions;

  4. disagreements about interpretation remain possible and are documented in the concordance table.

The complete twenty-axiom source-to-equation concordance appears in Appendix 14 and is included as a machine-readable file in the replication package.

3 The retained capitalist reproduction core

The revised transition model does not discard the verified capitalist core. The pre-transition economy remains a bounded Goodwin-type accumulation model embedded in a seven-sector stock-flow-consistent accounting structure. Let \[\boldsymbol{x}_C=(\omega,e,b,u),\] where \(\omega\) is wage share, \(e\) employment, \(b\) corporate debt relative to productive capital, and \(u\) capacity utilization. The repaired vector field keeps \(\omega,e\in[0,1]\), \(u\in[0,u_{\max}]\), and \(b\ge0\) under stated dissipativity conditions. The exact ratio identity \[\dot b=\frac{\dot B}{K}-b\frac{\dot K}{K}\] is retained whenever the empirically normalized debt ratio is used.

The SFC system distinguishes workers’ households, rentier households, nonfinancial firms, commercial banks, the Treasury, the central bank, and the rest of the world. Its 62 transaction rows, 14 current/capital account columns, 13 balance-sheet rows, and seven sector balance sheets close symbolically. Consolidated financial claims cancel and leave world net worth equal to real capital and inventories. These are accounting theorems for the disclosed matrix, not empirical claims.

For the proof-of-concept four-state parameterization, independent Python and Wolfram implementations locate a Hopf point at \[\eta_u^*=3.931982186692139,\] with critical spectrum \[\{-0.41466478,-0.10538868,\pm0.04507164i\}\] and first Lyapunov coefficient \[l_1=1.2605889814>0.\] The local bifurcation is therefore subcritical in the stated convention. Figure 1 reproduces the archived verification. This capitalist module is retained because a theory of transition requires a determinate pre-transition reproduction regime. It is not assumed that the reduced Goodwin system by itself generates the party, proletarian dictatorship, or communist relations.

4 A five-phase hybrid reconstruction

4.1 Phase registry

The discrete phase variable is \[\sigma\in\{0,1,2,3,4\},\] with the following meanings:

The transition graph is sequential. Failure transitions may return phase 1 or phase 2 to capitalism, but no forward phase can be skipped.

Sequential hybrid automaton. Organic centralism and party capacity enter the seizure gate; capitalist-category extinction and international extension enter the lower-communist gate; class, state, bourgeois-right, scarcity, and division-of-labour extinction enter the higher-communist gate.

4.2 Continuous state vector

The state vector does not include “organic centralism” as a nineteenth or twentieth opinion variable. Instead, \[\mathcal O\in\{0,1\}\] is a constitutive predicate. \(\mathcal O=1\) means that the organization whose material capacity is represented by \(P\) has been declared consistent with the stated programme, international unity, and organic continuity. \(\mathcal O=0\) means that, whatever its size or influence, it is not the class party in the sense assumed by this reconstruction.

4.3 Conjunctive seizure gate

The old additive transition score allowed one variable to compensate for another. The revised seizure gate is conjunctive: \[\mathcal G_{1\to2}(\boldsymbol{x})= \mathbf{1}\!\left[ \mathcal O=1, P\ge P_c, D\ge D_c, M\ge M_c, B\le B_c \right]. \label{eq:seizure-gate}\] This formulation has a precise meaning. High mobilization cannot compensate for a non-existent or programmatically inadmissible party; party capacity cannot compensate for absent class organs; state collapse alone is not proletarian victory.

Dual power itself is allowed to emerge without the seizure condition: \[\mathcal G_{0\to1}(\boldsymbol{x})= \mathbf{1}[D\ge D_1,\;M\ge M_1,\;B\le B_1].\] This distinction permits mass organs to arise spontaneously or under heterogeneous leadership while denying that their existence automatically constitutes the dictatorship of the proletariat.

At seizure, the hybrid reset is \[B^+=0, \qquad S^+\ge S_0>0, \qquad R^+\ge R_0>0. \label{eq:state-reset}\] The old state is destroyed; it does not become the new state or gently decline into it. The proletarian state is constituted as a separate class instrument, while organized counterrevolution is assumed to persist after the political defeat of the bourgeoisie.

4.4 The transitional economy and capitalist-category extinction

For each specifically capitalist relation \[X\in\{W,\mu,C,A,V,I\},\] the transitional and lower-phase law is \[\dot X=-\alpha_XSQG\,X+\beta_X(1-G)(1-X), \qquad \alpha_X,\beta_X>0. \label{eq:category-law}\] The first term represents deliberate extinction through proletarian power and unified planning. The second represents reconstitution pressure from international capitalist encirclement. The equation does not claim that foreign pressure is the only source of restoration; it isolates the international constraint required by the programme.

Legal socialization follows a separate law, \[\dot Z=\eta_Z(Z_T-Z),\] with \(Z_T\) near one during the dictatorship. This separation ensures that \(Z=1\) does not imply \(W=\mu=C=A=V=I=0\).

Class differentiation is modeled as a filtered consequence of class-generating relations: \[\dot K=\eta_K(\kappa-K), \label{eq:class-filter}\] where \[\kappa=0.24W+0.08\mu+0.18C+0.16A+0.18V+0.16I. \label{eq:class-index}\] The weights are illustrative and sum to one. The crucial point is structural: classlessness is not a direct effect of a legal decree; it follows from the disappearance of relations that reproduce class positions.

4.5 Gate to lower communism

Let \[X_{\max}=\max\{W,\mu,C,A,V,I\}.\] The lower-communist gate is \[\mathcal G_{2\to3}=1\] only when \[B\le\varepsilon_c, \quad G\ge G_L, \quad Q\ge Q_L, \quad Z\ge Z_L, \quad S\ge S_L, \quad R\le R_L, \quad X_{\max}\le\varepsilon_c. \label{eq:lower-gate}\] Neither \(H\) nor \(L\) nor \(N\) is required to vanish at this gate. This is deliberate. The lower phase is already non-capitalist in its basic productive relations, but it still carries bourgeois right, scarcity, inherited divisions, and a residual state.

4.6 State withering and gate to higher communism

In the lower phase, define the obstruction index \[\Omega=\max\{K,R,1-G,W,\mu,C,A,V,I,H,L,N\}. \label{eq:obstruction}\] The proletarian-state law is \[\dot S=\eta_S(s_0\Omega-S), \qquad s_0>0. \label{eq:withering}\] The state is therefore maintained at a positive level whenever class differentiation, restoration pressure, national isolation, commodity relations, bourgeois right, division of labour, or material scarcity persist. It withers only as the conditions that require class coercion disappear.

Within lower communism, \[\begin{aligned} \dot H&=-\eta_HQG(1-N)H,\\ \dot L&=-\eta_LQG(1-N)L,\\ \dot N&=-\eta_NQGN+\xi_N[(1-G)+\zeta(t)](1-N), \end{aligned}\] where \(\zeta\) is an external material disruption. Bourgeois right and fixed social divisions decline only as internationalized planning and material sufficiency develop.

The higher-communist gate requires \[G\ge G_H, \quad Q\ge Q_H, \quad \max\{B,S,R,W,\mu,C,A,V,I,K,H,L,N\}\le\varepsilon_h. \label{eq:higher-gate}\] In phase 4 the political party, mass mobilization, and class state decay as political forms, while planning capacity remains. Here \(P\) denotes specifically the party’s political capacity as an organ of class struggle; it does not represent the disappearance of collective memory, scientific research, or unified social coordination. Those non-political functions are absorbed into \(Q\). This is consistent with the Communist International’s position that the need for the political party disappears only with the dissolution of classes, and with the Italian Left’s later description of its transformation into non-political social research and administration (Communist International 1920; International Communist Party 1983).

5 Formal results

5.1 Domain invariance

Proposition 1 (Forward invariance of the normalized state domain). For each fixed phase, the continuous vector field maps the boundary of \([0,1]^{19}\) inward or tangentially. Every reset maps \([0,1]^{19}\) into itself. Hence the hybrid state remains in the unit cube for all finite times for which a solution exists.

Proof. The political and institutional states not governed by equation [eq:category-law] use target adjustment \[\dot x_i=\eta_i(T_i(\boldsymbol{x},t)-x_i),\] with \(T_i\in[0,1]\). At \(x_i=0\) the derivative is nonnegative; at \(x_i=1\) it is nonpositive. For equation [eq:category-law], at \(X=0\) one has \(\dot X=\beta_X(1-G)\ge0\), while at \(X=1\) one has \(\dot X=-\alpha_XSQG\le0\). The scarcity equation has nonnegative derivative at \(N=0\) and nonpositive derivative at \(N=1\). Equations [eq:class-filter] and [eq:withering] are target flows with targets in \([0,1]\). The resets set or raise states to disclosed values inside the cube. Standard viability arguments establish forward invariance. ◻

5.2 Sequentiality and no phase skipping

Proposition 2 (No forward phase skipping). Under the transition relation of Figure 2, every successful forward trajectory visits the ordered sequence \[0\to1\to2\to3\to4.\] No trajectory can pass directly from capitalism or dual power to a communist phase.

Proof. The automaton contains forward edges only between adjacent phases. Continuous evolution does not change \(\sigma\). Therefore every forward change increments \(\sigma\) by one. Failure edges may decrease it, but cannot create a skipped forward transition. ◻

This result is definitional, but politically important. It prevents legal socialization, state collapse, or local planning experiments from being relabeled as communism without proletarian dictatorship and transformation of the inherited relations.

5.3 Party non-substitutability

Proposition 3 (Non-substitutability of the party). If \(\mathcal O=0\) or \(P<P_c\), then \(\mathcal G_{1\to2}=0\) for every admissible value of \(D,M,\) and \(B\).

Proof. Equation [eq:seizure-gate] is a logical conjunction. Failure of either the programmatic predicate or the party-capacity threshold makes the conjunction false independently of the other variables. ◻

The proposition does not say that the party acts without the class. The same gate also requires \(D\ge D_c\) and \(M\ge M_c\). It formalizes complementarity, not substitution in the opposite direction.

5.4 Destruction of the bourgeois state and constitution of a distinct state

Proposition 4 (State non-identity). At the transition \(1\to2\), the bourgeois state and proletarian state cannot be the same continuous state transformed by gradual decay. The reset enforces \(B^+=0\) and \(S^+\ge S_0>0\).

Proof. The two coordinates are distinct before the event, and the reset assigns different post-event values. Hence no continuous function \(S=f(B)\) identifying the two state forms is imposed. In particular, the disappearance of \(B\) is instantaneous in the hybrid abstraction, while the later decline of \(S\) is governed by equation [eq:withering]. ◻

This is a formal representation of the Leninist distinction: the bourgeois state is broken; the proletarian semi-state later withers.

5.5 Nationalization is insufficient

Proposition 5 (Legal socialization does not imply lower communism). For any state with \(Z=1\) but \(X_{\max}>\varepsilon_c\), the lower-communist gate is closed.

Proof. Equation [eq:lower-gate] requires both \(Z\ge Z_L\) and \(X_{\max}\le\varepsilon_c\). The first condition does not imply the second. ◻

A state may legally own every major enterprise while wage labour, money, commodity exchange, enterprise profitability, and value regulation remain. The proposition is a gate theorem, not an empirical classification of any historical state; such a classification requires evidence about the actual relations.

5.6 The international barrier and positive category floors

Proposition 6 (One-country barrier). If \(G(t)<G_L\) for all \(t\), the system cannot enter lower communism. If \(G(t)<G_H\) for all \(t\), it cannot enter higher communism.

Proof. The first assertion follows from the necessary condition \(G\ge G_L\) in equation [eq:lower-gate]; the second follows from \(G\ge G_H\) in equation [eq:higher-gate]. ◻

The next result shows that internationalism is not only a gate label but also appears in the continuous dynamics.

Proposition 7 (Positive capitalist-category floor under persistent isolation). Fix a transitional interval on which \(S,Q,G\) are constant with \(S,Q>0\) and \(0\le G<1\). For any \(X\) satisfying equation [eq:category-law], the unique equilibrium is \[X^*=\frac{\beta_X(1-G)}{\alpha_XSQG+\beta_X(1-G)}>0, \label{eq:category-floor}\] and it is globally asymptotically stable on \([0,1]\).

Proof. Equation [eq:category-law] is affine: \[\dot X=\beta_X(1-G)-[\alpha_XSQG+\beta_X(1-G)]X.\] The coefficient multiplying \(X\) is strictly positive. Solving \(\dot X=0\) yields equation [eq:category-floor]; the solution converges exponentially to it. Since \(G<1\), the numerator is positive. ◻

The proposition formalizes a strong programmatic closure: under persistent international capitalist pressure, the selected capitalist relations regenerate and cannot be completely extinguished. This is not a universal empirical law; it is one explicit mechanism implementing the impossibility of completed socialism in one country.

5.7 Classlessness as extinction of class-generating relations

Proposition 8 (Class-relation filter). Let \(K\) satisfy equation [eq:class-filter]. If every component entering \(\kappa(t)\) converges to zero, then \(K(t)\to0\). Conversely, if some component \(X_j\) with weight \(a_j>0\) satisfies \(\liminf_{t\to\infty}X_j(t)\ge\delta>0\), then \[\liminf_{t\to\infty}K(t)\ge a_j\delta.\]

This is why the model does not make classes disappear when capitalists are legally dispossessed. If wage dependence, enterprise separation, or value regulation persists, a class-generating relation persists in the model.

5.8 Conditional withering of the proletarian state

Theorem 1 (State-withering condition). Let \(S\) satisfy equation [eq:withering] in the lower phase.

Corollary 1. Persistent capitalist encirclement, counterrevolution, class differentiation, money, commodity production, bourgeois right, fixed division of labour, or material scarcity prevents complete state withering in this closure.

This theorem is one of the main advances of the revision. Statelessness is no longer attached mechanically to socialized ownership. It is a derived limit conditioned on the disappearance of the social antagonisms that require a class state.

5.9 Lower and higher communism are not the same regime

Proposition 9 (Non-collapse of the communist phases). There exist states that satisfy the lower-communist gate while failing the higher-communist gate.

Proof. Choose a state satisfying equation [eq:lower-gate] with \(H,L,N,\) or \(S\) greater than \(\varepsilon_h\). These variables are not required to vanish at \(2\to3\), but each is required to be below \(\varepsilon_h\) at \(3\to4\). ◻

The model can therefore represent a non-monetary, non-commodity society that still distributes according to labour contribution, remains materially constrained, retains inherited specialization, and requires a residual class-state apparatus.

6 Physical planning without monetary regulation

6.1 Material technology

The previous edition used a monetary German input-output table as a transitional description of inherited production. The use of input-output constraints and optimization methods draws on the technical traditions associated with Leontief and Kantorovich, without importing market valuation into the communist phase (Leontief 1941; Kantorovich 1960). That remains useful for analyzing capitalism, but mature communist calculation cannot be defined by euro-valued enterprise accounts. The revised planning theorem is therefore written in physical-service coordinates.

Let \(x\in\mathbb{R}_+^n\) be gross outputs measured in sector-specific physical service units, \(A^{\mathrm{phys}}\) the matrix of material requirements, and \[y=(I-A^{\mathrm{phys}})x\] net output available for social use. Matrix entries carry the appropriate physical input-output units; numerical normalization is allowed for computation but not interpreted as price valuation. Let \(d\) be a socially determined needs vector. The model does not derive legitimate needs from optimization; it takes them as a declared social input.

The theorem says that the chosen plan-adjustment law reduces the disclosed shortage-and-adjustment loss. It does not establish the political legitimacy of \(d\), global convexity, informational feasibility, or a unique optimum.

The replication package includes a four-sector normalized physical-service illustration for energy, food, housing, and health/care. Its technical-coefficient matrix has spectral radius \(0.2335<1\). Fifty randomized interior starts preserved all capacity bounds and produced non-increasing loss sequences; the largest recorded numerical increase was \(1.46\times10^{-16}\).

7 Numerical experiments

7.1 Interpretive status

The simulations are not historical estimates. Political thresholds and adjustment speeds are chosen to test the architecture and to produce falsifiable counterexamples to common conceptual shortcuts. The numerical experiments answer conditional questions:

7.2 Scenario I: mass rupture without a programmatically admissible party

The first scenario applies a prolonged crisis while setting \(\mathcal O=0\). Mass organs and mobilization cross the dual-power threshold at model time \(t\approx9.21\). The system remains in phase 1. Even though the numerical variable \(P\) can rise as an organizational-capacity measure, it cannot open the seizure gate because the organization is not admitted as the Communist Party under the declared programme.

This scenario is not a claim that every non-ICP organization is incapable of political action. It demonstrates the formal content of the model: mass rupture, local coordination, or an influential organization cannot be silently redefined as the programmatic class party.

7.3 Scenario II: nationally isolated proletarian dictatorship

In the second scenario, \(\mathcal O=1\), the party and mass organs cross the seizure gate, the bourgeois-state coordinate is reset to zero at \(t\approx9.20\), and the proletarian-state coordinate is constituted above \(0.65\). International extension, however, converges only to \(G=0.28\).

Legal socialization approaches one, but the category equation produces positive floors. At \(t=500\), \[W\approx\mu\approx C\approx0.576,\] while \(S\approx0.905\). The system remains in the dictatorship/transitional phase. This is the formal counterpart of the proposition that public ownership and national planning under world capitalist domination are not lower communism.

7.4 Scenario III: international transition

The third scenario uses the same seizure crisis but lets \(G\) rise gradually toward one. The event sequence at time step \(\Delta t=0.01\) is:

The economic transformation is deliberately much slower than the political reset. Figure 5 shows the decay of wage labour, monetary mediation, commodity production, enterprise separation, value regulation, and transferable claims. Figure 6 shows the distinct histories of the bourgeois and proletarian state. Figure 7 shows that monetary mediation vanishes before bourgeois right and fixed division of labour, preserving the distinction between lower and higher communism.

The bourgeois state is destroyed at the seizure event. The distinct proletarian semi-state remains while counterrevolution and encirclement persist and later withers as its obstruction index approaches zero.
Monetary mediation is already extinguished at the lower-phase gate, while bourgeois right, inherited division of labour, and unmet need decline only afterward.

7.5 Time-step refinement

The fixed-step fourth-order Runge–Kutta implementation was rerun at \(\Delta t=0.02,0.01,\) and \(0.005\). The phase sequence was unchanged. The largest difference between the \(0.01\) and \(0.005\) event times was \(0.015\) model-time units, and every state remained within \([0,1]\). An independently written adaptive DOP853 solver then integrated each smooth phase without clipping and located the gates through continuous event functions. It reproduced the same three scenario classifications and all four international transitions. Its event times differed from the \(\Delta t=.005\) run by at most \(0.0035\). Because the headline table reports the fixed-grid implementation, its event times are rounded only to precision justified by that grid.

8 What the revised model does and does not say

8.1 Class and party

The model no longer equates class with a collection of individuals sharing an income bracket. Class is reproduced through wage dependence, commodity relations, enterprise separation, value regulation, property claims, and the state that protects them (Marx 1894, 1864; Lenin 1920). \(K\) is therefore downstream of social relations. A change in personnel or legal title cannot by itself eliminate class differentiation.

Likewise, the party is not identified with whichever organization has the largest membership or wins a majority vote. \(P\) records practical capacity only after the programmatic predicate has been declared. This reconstructs the Left’s distinction between the historical programme and the fluctuating dimensions of the formal organization. It also prevents the model from deriving programme from spontaneous public opinion.

At the same time, the party does not replace the proletariat. The seizure gate is impossible without mass organs and mobilization. The formal result is complementarity: \[\mathcal O\times P\times D\times M\] is structurally different from an additive score \(aP+bD+cM\).

8.2 Organic centralism

Representing organic centralism as \(\mathcal O\in\{0,1\}\) is an improvement over treating it as an attitude scale, but it remains an abstraction. The model cannot inspect a party’s real historical continuity, tactical practice, or internal life. The source concordance specifies what the predicate is intended to mean:

The mathematical model takes those features as a constitutive test external to the ODEs. A future sociology of organizations could model measurable indicators of programmatic drift, bureaucratic degeneration, or fragmentation, but it should not confuse such indicators with the programme itself.

8.3 Dictatorship and state withering

The revised model resolves a contradiction in the earlier edition. The same state cannot both be the bourgeois state to be destroyed and the proletarian state that later withers. Separate variables and a hybrid reset are therefore necessary.

The state-withering theorem also rules out an immediate stateless transition. If organized counterrevolution, class differentiation, capitalist encirclement, scarcity, or inherited bourgeois right persists, \(S\) has a positive asymptotic floor. The state does not disappear because a constitution declares society socialist. It becomes unnecessary only as the relations requiring political coercion disappear.

8.4 Moneylessness and the lower phase

The paper distinguishes zero interest from moneylessness. Monetary mediation \(\mu\) concerns access to goods, labor, inputs, and production through purchasing power and accounts. A society can set interest rates to zero while remaining monetary; it can abolish private banks while wages and enterprise accounts remain. Lower communism requires \(\mu\) together with wage labour, commodity production, enterprise separation, value regulation, and transferable claims to cross the extinction gate.

Bourgeois right \(H\) remains distinct. A non-monetary labour certificate is not treated as money in this model because it is not transferable capital, does not circulate between autonomous enterprises, and does not command another person’s labour-power. Nevertheless, labour-proportional distribution remains unequal in its equal measure and therefore belongs to the lower phase, not the higher.

8.5 Internationalism

\(G\) is not globalization, trade openness, or diplomatic recognition. It represents extension of proletarian political power and the material ability of the world revolution to break capitalist encirclement. The gate does not imply that every territory must change phase simultaneously. It says that a nationally isolated dictatorship cannot declare completed communist economic relations by fiat.

The positive-floor equation makes the closure stronger: isolation continuously regenerates commodity, monetary, and enterprise pressures. This is one possible formalization of the international thesis, not the only one. Alternative versions could model military pressure, unequal productive development, trade dependency, or a network of regional revolutions explicitly.

8.6 Why the result is not a blueprint

Marx’s refusal to write recipes for future kitchens remains relevant. The planning law does not specify the complete institutional constitution of communist society. It establishes only that, given a needs vector, a physical technology, capacities, and ecological constraints, a transparent numerical adjustment law can descend a social loss while preserving material bounds. Decisions over needs, burdens, priorities, and ecological tradeoffs are political and social processes that cannot be derived from the gradient.

The programme supplies negative and transitional determinations—abolition of wage labour, money, commodity production, class state, and enterprise autonomy—but it does not provide every future technical coefficient. The model should be read as a consistency framework, not an architectural plan for daily life.

9 Verification architecture

The publication package separates exact, numerical, textual, and exploratory components.

9.1 Machine-checked formal tests

The new test suite checks:

  1. all nineteen normalized states remain in the unit cube in every standard scenario;

  2. 760,000 randomized boundary-component evaluations confirm that each smooth phase field points inward or tangentially on every face of the unit cube;

  3. the seizure gate fails when \(\mathcal O=0\) or \(P<P_c\), even under maximal mass mobilization and state collapse;

  4. \(Z=1\) with persistent wage, monetary, commodity, enterprise, value, and claim relations does not open the lower-phase gate;

  5. international extension below \(G_L\) blocks lower communism;

  6. the higher-phase gate fails while the proletarian state, class differentiation, or bourgeois right persists;

  7. the state reset sends \(B\) to zero and constitutes a distinct \(S\);

  8. the international scenario follows exactly the four sequential forward transitions;

  9. time-step refinement preserves the phase sequence and stabilizes event times;

  10. an independent adaptive DOP853 implementation, using continuous event functions and no state clipping, reproduces every phase and agrees with the finest fixed-step event times within \(0.0035\) model-time units;

  11. fifty randomized physical-planning starts preserve capacities and show non-increasing loss;

  12. all twenty programmatic axioms and all source keys are present in the concordance registry.

9.2 Retained independent verification

The v2.1 package remains included as a frozen legacy component. Its Python verifiers independently reconstruct the SFC matrices from source, reproduce the Hopf point and first Lyapunov coefficient, verify the employment identity on frozen AMECO data, and reproduce the earlier political-excitability calculation. The revised paper does not treat the earlier additive political threshold as the Left-Communist seizure condition; it is retained as a historical verification of the research programme.

9.3 Limits of internal verification

Internal tests cannot establish:

External criticism is therefore not a final decorative step. It is part of the scientific status of the paper.

10 Relation to the previous edition

The revision changes five central elements.

  1. From additive politics to complementarity. The old transition potential allowed substitutability among consciousness, organization, mobilization, legitimacy, coercion, and dual power. The new seizure gate makes the party, mass organs, mobilization, and bourgeois-state defeat conjunctive.

  2. From one state to two class states. The bourgeois state is destroyed; a distinct proletarian state is constituted and later withers conditionally.

  3. From socialized ownership to relation extinction. Legal ownership \(Z\) is separated from wage labour, money, commodities, enterprises, value, and transferable claims.

  4. From one transition scalar to five phases. Transitional economy, lower communism, and higher communism are not points on one smooth ownership scale.

  5. From monetary inherited tables to physical planning. Monetary SFC accounts remain necessary for capitalism and the transition, while the communist planning theorem uses physical-service units.

The previous finding that durable coordinating capacity matters more than momentary protest is not simply discarded. It is reinterpreted. Mass organs \(D\) remain necessary, but they cannot replace the party; dual power becomes one conjunct in the political transition rather than the overwhelmingly dominant component of an additive eigenmode.

11 Limitations and open research problems

11.1 The doctrinal model is not empirically identified

There is no accepted annual dataset for \(P,D,R,\) or \(G\) in the meanings used here. Survey trust in government or police cannot measure the class character of the state, operational loyalty of an apparatus, or revolutionary party continuity. The numerical scenarios are therefore formal experiments.

A serious empirical programme would require historical coding of:

Even with such data, causal identification would remain difficult because revolutionary episodes are rare, heterogeneous, path dependent, and strategically interactive.

11.2 Binary organic centralism is intentionally severe

The Boolean predicate avoids pseudo-precision but creates a boundary problem. Real organizations may contain contradictions, incomplete continuity, or disputed interpretations. The model responds by distinguishing two tasks: textual-programmatic judgment determines \(\mathcal O\), while empirical organizational analysis determines \(P\). It does not solve the judgment problem.

11.3 The international variable is aggregated

A scalar \(G\) cannot represent the uneven world revolution, imperialist blocs, logistical networks, productive specialization, or military encirclement. A multi-region network model is the most important extension. Each region would have its own phase and production structure, while the World Party and international material plan would connect them. The scalar model should be understood as the minimal theorem-bearing version.

11.4 The state floor is a closure, not a universal law

Equation [eq:withering] formalizes the claim that the state remains necessary while antagonistic obstructions persist. The use of the maximum is conservative: the strongest obstruction controls the floor. Other closures could use a CES aggregate, complementarity system, or explicit coercive tasks. The qualitative theorem survives whenever the state target is bounded below by a positive function of persistent antagonisms.

11.5 Physical planning needs hard constraints and institutional specification

The ecological term in equation [eq:planning-loss] is soft. Future work should use projected or primal-dual dynamics with exact resource balances, non-substitutable ecological ceilings, inventories, uncertainty, and time delays. It must also model how needs are formed and revised without recreating commodity demand or a sovereign planning bureaucracy detached from producers.

11.6 The model cannot certify historical inevitability

Nothing in the equations proves that capitalism must cross the seizure gate, that a dictatorship will survive, that international revolution will extend, or that the lower phase will mature into the higher. The model contains explicit failure and stagnation possibilities. Its contribution is to make the conditions visible.

12 Conclusion

A Left-Communist revision of the transition model required more than replacing terminology. It required changing the mathematical architecture.

The revised system distinguishes the class party from mass organs, organic centralism from organizational size, the destruction of the bourgeois state from the withering of the proletarian state, legal nationalization from abolition of capitalist relations, a transitional economy from lower communism, lower communism from higher communism, and national political victory from international communist transformation.

Several consequences follow exactly from the architecture. No amount of mobilization substitutes for a programmatically admissible party in the seizure gate. Legal socialization does not constitute communism while wage labour, money, commodity production, enterprise separation, value regulation, or transferable claims remain. Persistent national isolation creates positive floors for those relations in the selected closure. Class differentiation disappears only as its generating relations disappear. The proletarian state withers only if the obstruction index tends to zero. Lower communism can exist with bourgeois right and a residual state; higher communism cannot.

The physical planning subsystem adds a separate constructive result. Once production is represented in material rather than monetary coordinates, a metric gradient law can reduce a disclosed needs-and-ecology loss while preserving capacities. This does not solve the political problem of determining needs, but it demonstrates that communist allocation need not be represented as a better price system.

The resulting paper should not be described as a mathematical proof of Bordiga, Lenin, or the ICP. It is a formal reconstruction of selected programmatic positions and an analysis of their internal consequences. Its scientific value lies in making premises explicit, preventing incompatible shortcuts, producing theorems that can be checked, and revealing where empirical evidence and further theory are still absent.
